Product Overview

This product is a parallel 100Gb/s Quad Small Form-factor Pluggable (QSFP28) optical module, designed to deliver high port density and cost-effective system solutions. The QSFP28 full-duplex optical module features four independent transmit and receive channels, each supporting 25Gb/s operation, for an aggregate data rate of 100Gb/s over 2km of single-mode fiber.

The module interfaces with an optical fiber ribbon cable via an MTP/MPO-12 connector. Guide pins within the receptacle ensure proper alignment, and the cable is typically non-twistable to maintain correct channel-to-channel alignment. Electrical connectivity is provided through an MSA-compliant 38-pin edge-type connector.

Operating on a single +3.3V power supply, the module supports LVCMOS/LVTTL global control signals, including:

• Low Power Mode

A 2-wire serial interface enables advanced control signaling and access to digital diagnostic information. Individual channels can be addressed independently, and unused channels may be shut down to optimize design flexibility.

Designed in accordance with the QSFP28 Multi-Source Agreement (MSA), this module ensures compliance with form factor, optical/electrical connection, and digital diagnostic interface standards. It is built to withstand demanding external operating conditions, including temperature variations, humidity, and EMI interference.

Module management is facilitated via an I2C two-wire serial interface, providing comprehensive control and monitoring capabilities.
